The Spring Family Carnival is outside this year!

May 17th, 2024 | 6pm – 8pm

Come enjoy the Sunnyside Spring Family Carnival! This is a fun event for the whole family. All children must be accompanied by an adult. All games and activities are free. Food from Steamwerkz Hot Dog Cart and Shave Ice and raffle tickets are available for purchase.

Parking

Thank you to Sunnyside Four Square Church AND Creator Lutheran Church. They have both given permission for us to use their parking lots. The Sunnyside Elementary Parking Lot will be closed, so please park in one of the church lots.

Pre-order to Save Time

Save time at the carnival and pre-order food and raffle tickets.

This year Steamwerkz Hot Dog Cart and Shave Ice will be handling the food. The PTA is taking pre-orders.

Available for pre-order. Must be ordered by May 10, 2024 for special pricing:
  • Vegetarian Hot Dog Meal $10. Must be preordered.
  • Discounted Kid Hot Dog Meal $6 (Regular Price $8)
  • Raffle Ticket Deal 12 Tickets for $10. (Regular Price $1 each)
  • 1/4 Hot Dog Meal $11
  • Double Smoked Bacon Tillamook Cheddar Sausage Meal $11
  • 1/4 Pound Polish Kielbasa Meal $11
  • Shave Ice $5

Pre-order food by May 10th. After that you can purchase food directly through the food truck at the regular price.

Pick Up Pre-Order Tickets at Will Call

You will receive a receipt in your email and you can pick up your pre-ordered tickets at the Will Call table at the carnival. The order will be listed under the purchaser’s last name.


Volunteer

We need volunteers to help run this event. Please sign up in Help Counter to support the event. There are many volunteer options. You can help out and enjoy the event. Thank you for your support!


Calming Room Available

This year, we will be offering a calming room for kids who need a chance to be away from the noise and hubbub of the carnival to come and take a break so that they’ll be able to rejoin carnival activities when they’re ready. It will NOT be a carnival event or a space to play, but rather a quiet, safe space for kids who are easily sensorily overwhelmed. The room will be kept quiet, the lights will stay low, and there will be a few low-key activities available, such as coloring, fidgets, and a reading corner. The room will be staffed by a volunteer for the duration of the carnival, but kids using the calming room must be accompanied by an adult, keep their voices down, and respect the need for quiet and calm of the other kids using the space.


The raffle is a fun addition to the carnival, and we are looking for raffle basket donations. All students will receive a free raffle ticket, so everyone has a chance to win!

How it works

Any individual, business, or group may create a kid-friendly themed basket to donate at the carnival. The value of each basket should be at least $25 and the more creative your basket, the more fun at the carnival. Some examples of basket themes are A Night at the Movies, Chocolate, Rainy Day Fun, Legos, Book Worm and Game Night. 100% of the raffle proceeds support PTA programs.

Basket Drop Off

Baskets donations can be dropped off at the school office or contact Joann Faris, our carnival donation chair jfaris@radiusfurniture.com for other options. We are taking donations now, but would like them no later than May 1st . That gives us time to organize and plan.
