Open Board Officer Positions for 2021-2022 School Year

Board Officers are elected positions, and they have a 1 year term with a two term limit. The following are the Board Officer positions. Nominees are listed. Please email us if you’re interested in a position.

President

Current Nominee: Lily Cordaro (current president)

  • Attend all General Membership Meetings and Board Meetings (1 hour monthly meeting).
    • General Membership Meetings are bimonthly. Board Meetings are on the off months.
  • Engages people including parents and staff and builds connections between the school and parents. 
  • Runs PTA meetings, creates agenda
  • Ensures event committees are staffed and on schedule
  • Works closely with school administration
  • Oversees PTA annual compliance

Vice President

Current Nominee: Bridget Edge (current vice president)

  • Attend all General Membership Meetings and Board Meetings (1 hour monthly meeting).
    • General Membership Meetings are bimonthly. Board Meetings are on the off months.
  • Assists in engaging people including parents and staff and builds connections between the school and parents. 
  • Leads the PTA meetings if the President is unable to attend
  • Ensures event committees are staffed and on schedule
  • Performs monthly audit and back up annual audit
  • Assists in overseeing PTA annual compliance

Treasurer

Current Nominee: Melissa Moan (current treasurer)

  • Attend all General Membership Meetings and Board Meetings (1 hour monthly meeting).
    • General Membership Meetings are bimonthly. Board Meetings are on the off months.
  • Uses Money Minder accounting computer program to manage, reconcile and balance the budget.
  • Completes taxes, Pays and updates insurance
  • Annual audit (take to PTA Fall meeting for audit)
  • Responsible for reimbursement of funds to teachers, staff and parents. 
  • In charge of the money boxes during events. 
  • Responsible for deposits and keeping receipts and reimbursement slips. 
  • Works closely with school administration regarding budget and funds.

Secretary

Current Nominee: none

Estimated Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month

  • Attend all General Membership Meetings and Board Meetings (1 hour monthly meeting).
    • General Membership Meetings are bimonthly. Board Meetings are on the off months.
  • Take notes during PTA meetings and create meeting minutes
  • Responsible for getting minutes signed at the next meeting.  
  • Take Attendance (virtual)/Bring sign in sheet to PTA meetings.
  • Retrieve member list from Memberhub.  
  • Upload the Meeting Minutes to the PTA Google Drive
  • For in-person meetings, print and photocopy about 25 copies of previous months minutes to distribute in the meeting

Open Executive Board Positions

Communication Coordinator

Estimated Time Commitment: 1-2 hr per week

  • Send out a weekly PTA update email.
  • Works with ESD to have flyers, posters, paperwork etc. printed.
  • Manages Peach Jar Flyers
  • Checks messages daily in the PTA email account
    • Forwards messages to the appropriate people to respond
  • Maintains social media sites

Fundraising Coordinator

Estimated Time Commitment: Most months 2 hr per month. August/September for Jog-a-thon up to 3-4 hrs per week. March/April for Spring Family Carnival up to 3-4 hrs per week.

  • Set up restaurant night out events.
  • Find donors for Jog-a-thon prizes.
  • Help promote fundraising events.
  • Help with silent auction and donation procurement.

Yearbook Committee

Estimated time commitment depends on how many people join the committee. Work involves organizing the yearbook art contest in the fall. In March/April preparing the yearbook for print. 10-15 hours total. This can be split between committee members over the year.

We are looking for more people interested in working on the yearbook.

The following are on hold because of Covid-19

Jog-a-Thon Committee

Estimated Time Commitment: August – October with the busiest time in September. Will need to have 1-2 planning meetings over the summer. In September, 5-8 hours per week depending on how many people are on the committee. Day of Jog-a-thon you will need to be at the school all day. October 3-4 hours for the month to tally and sort out the school prizes.

Estimated time commitment is about 6-8 hours total spread over the amount of time you allow for planning the event.

Spring Family Carnival Committee

Estimated time commitment depends on how many people join the commitee. This committee runs from Jan-April (busiest time will be in late March/early April).
